Solicitor · St Albans, Hertfordshire

Clear legal advice. Practical next steps.

Debt recovery, commercial disputes and corporate matters for businesses and individuals — with direct access to the solicitor doing the work, from St Albans and across England and Wales.

Debt recovery

Unpaid invoices. A clear way forward.

Most debts are best recovered without going to court. I start with what the paperwork shows, what the debtor can realistically pay and what each step will cost you.

  1. Review and assessmentContract, invoices and correspondence — is the debt clear, disputed or out of time?
  2. Letter before actionA properly prepared demand that follows the pre-action rules that apply.
  3. Negotiation or proceedingsSettlement where sensible; a County Court claim where it is proportionate.
  4. EnforcementIf judgment is not paid, the enforcement route that fits what the debtor owns or earns.

Employment

Leaving a job, or managing an exit.

Independent advice on settlement agreements for employees, including the adviser’s certificate where appropriate, and advisory support for employers handling exits. I explain what you are giving up, what you are getting and whether the terms are worth negotiating.

Property

Landlord and tenant disputes.

Rent arrears, possession, deposits, repairs and lease breaches — residential and commercial. I act for landlords or tenants in different matters, never for both sides of the same dispute, and always after a conflict check.

More about me

How it works

Three steps before any work begins.

1

Enquiry

Send a short outline. I run a preliminary conflict check and reply within 1–3 working days.

2

Scope

If I can help, we have a free initial discussion of up to 15 minutes — by video or in person — about suitability and scope. No detailed advice at this stage.

3

Engagement

I confirm the scope, fees and terms in writing. I act for you only once you have signed and I have confirmed acceptance.

Local

Based in St Albans.

Client meetings are by appointment at 2 Victoria Square, St Albans AL1 3TF. Parking is available and the premises are accessible — email me if you would like to discuss any access needs before we meet. I also act for clients in Harpenden, Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Hemel Hempstead, Watford, Radlett and North London, and by video across England and Wales where the matter suits it.

Get in touch

Tell me briefly what has happened.

I aim to respond within 1–3 working days, Monday to Friday. I do not offer an emergency service, so if you face an imminent court or tribunal deadline please say so — but an enquiry alone does not mean I can act before it.
